Viktor doesn't understand why telling the truth would be rewarded with a kiss but it felt nice to be able to please K. And it's human emotion that the hex core was not able to fabricate. It couldn't reproduce them so it exploited Sky Young's knowledge and her connection with Viktor. While he had the ability to feel anything, she had probably been the only one who was able to emotionally connect with him. The hex core would have needed him to willfully give up the last of his emotions. And when he willfully gave them up, he gave up the ability to interact with her.
